St. Bavo House, Ghent

De Klerck Engineering was responsible for the design and careful integration of building services as part of the large-scale renovation and new construction of the St. Bavo House in the historic heart of Ghent. The project involved the complete modernization of the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.

The energy-efficient HVAC system was integrated to minimize the visual impact on the valuable historic elements, with ducts and equipment discreetly concealed behind walls and floors. An advanced data infrastructure and architectural LED lighting, designed to enhance the heritage experience, were installed to prepare the building for intensive use in the years ahead.
