New BRUSK Bruges Museum and Art Complex
De Klerck Engineering designed the complete, highly advanced all-electric HVAC concept for the new BRUSK museum and art complex in Bruges. The greatest challenge was ensuring perfectly stable and redundant climate conditions for the preservation and exhibition of extremely valuable artworks.
This was achieved through a ground-source heat pump (BEO field) coupled with low-temperature heating and high-temperature cooling, an ice storage system as a nighttime cold buffer, and an innovative air displacement ventilation system with extremely quiet floor grilles and CO₂ control. Thanks to integrated BIPV solar panels (306 kWp) on the roofs, this landmark museum concept is virtually energy-neutral.
The entire design was developed using a comprehensive BIM process with a focus on spatial coordination and clash detection.
