Social Housing & Offices of the Machelen Public Social Welfare Center
Stability analysis, engineering, preparation of contract documents, and site supervision, EPB reporting
De Klerck Engineering was responsible for the structural analysis, building services design, and EPB reporting for the conversion of a former retirement home into the new Social Services Center and OCMW offices in Machelen. This modern administrative center, which serves as a public service hub, also includes renovated workspaces, workshops, multipurpose rooms, and support facilities.
The exterior features a full-length canopy. The structural analysis focused on complex interventions, including supporting load-bearing walls with steel beams to create new passageways and designing the foundations and concrete columns for the chemically anchored steel structure of the canopy.
