Lede/Erpe-Mere Police Station
Structural engineering, building services design, and EPB reporting for the construction of a new modular police station for the Lede/Erpe-Mere police district
For the Lede/Erpe-Mere police district, De Klerck Engineering was responsible for the building services design, and EPB reporting for a new police station. The new building brought together services that were previously spread across three locations into a single modern facility that complies with current standards and regulations.
The building consists of three stories and a basement and was designed with a modular structure, with flexibility and future expandability in mind. The structural analysis resulted in a precast concrete structure with load-bearing concrete walls, steel beams, and prestressed vaults, while the basement was constructed with a watertight foundation.
For the building services, the design included cascaded condensing gas boilers, radiators, a heat pump for the air-handling unit, and a Type D ventilation system. The design also incorporates targeted cooling for specific rooms, rainwater recovery for toilet flushing, controlled LED lighting, and a 10 kWp PV system. The building was completed with an E-level of 50.
