Ghent City Council - States of Flanders

As part of the phased restoration of Ghent City Council, De Klerck Engineering conducted the structural engineering study for the “Staten van Vlaanderen” section of the building on Stadhuissteeg. The focus was on the structural restoration of historic roof and facade elements.

A key part of the project involved the demolition of two early 20th-century additions, thereby revealing the original exterior facade. As part of this process, our team conducted a thorough reassessment and modification of the supporting load-bearing structures and foundations to ensure the long-term stability and durability of the historic facade surfaces.
