UZ Leuven - New Construction of the Outpatient Center
Study and preparation of design documents for structural engineering and building services, site supervision
For the large-scale construction of the new UZ Leuven Outpatient Center, De Klerck Engineering, as part of a temporary joint venture, carried out the complete structural analysis, building services design, and EPB reporting, including construction supervision. The building comprises five stories and brings together all outpatient services to optimize patient flow and logistical operations.
Based on the principle of a “healing environment,” three large light canyons draw daylight deep into the building to create a sense of calm. The technical infrastructure includes a highly energy-efficient, controllable ventilation system, an advanced filtration system tailored to the healthcare context, and a dimmable LED lighting system with occupancy and daylight sensing.
The building is future-proofed through its integration with the existing central campus systems.
