AZ Ganda Medical Center, Evergem
Engineering, structural analysis, and building physics studies for the construction of a new decentralized medical center with an outpatient clinic, dialysis unit, and medical imaging facilities in Evergem.
For the construction of the new AZ Sint-Lucas Medical Center in Evergem, De Klerck Engineering was responsible for the complete engineering, structural analysis, and building performance (EPB) studies. The project brings together an outpatient clinic, dialysis, and medical imaging at a single decentralized healthcare location, thereby bringing high-quality care closer to the residents of Evergem and the broader Meetjesland region.
Our team designed the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems with a special focus on comfort, hygiene, and reliability in a medical setting. Heat pumps, climate ceilings, high-efficiency air handling units with heat recovery, pressure cascades, custom filter designs, and carefully designed plumbing systems ensure a healthy, energy-efficient, and safe indoor environment.
The low- and high-voltage systems, emergency power supply, fire detection, access control, data infrastructure, nurse call system, elevators, and PV system were also integrated into a sustainable overall concept. Thanks to close coordination with Detoo Architects and AZ Sint-Lucas, a future-ready medical center was created where patient comfort, operational reliability, and energy efficiency reinforce one another.
