New office in Ghent

Ouverture is one of the new eye-catchers along the E40 in Sint-Denijs-Westrem, diagonally opposite the KBC Tower and close to Flanders Expo. The building combines offices, retail and sports facilities, and is designed as a layered whole: each level has its own function and its own visual identity in the façade, from concrete and glass at the bottom to bronze-coloured aluminium in the upper floors. The building has an energy-efficient design and achieved BREEAM Excellent certification.

What makes it extra special for us as an engineering firm is that we are not just moving into any office, but into one we contributed to technically ourselves: we carried out the complete structural engineering study for this building. A challenge because of the unique vertical stacking of very diverse functions and the presence of two parking levels: a 9,500 m² underground car park and a 6,500 m² above-ground parking deck.

Some 20 employees will have their permanent base in the new office: project managers, site managers, structural engineers and building services engineers. The office is not only a permanent workplace, but also a base for colleagues from both branches who are on their way to or from clients or construction sites.

For the team, there is a bicycle shed, showers and meeting rooms fully equipped with the latest technologies, among other things.

For clients for whom the trip to Bruges is just a little too far, this new location offers a great alternative. From now on, we welcome you in a modern and innovative office building, with a beautiful view as an added bonus.
